The
braiding of horse hair is an old art going back to Victorian times, when men
wore a watch chain braided from their favourite hunter and ladies wore
bracelets and pendants.
Horse hair does not deteriorate and is not
effected by occasionally getting wet (although to ensure long life it is not
recommended).
Send me some hair, ideally 18 inches long and about as
thick as your finger, and I will then braid/plait it and cap it in silver or
gold to make exquisite jewellery which is both different and functional - a
lasting keepsake and heirloom of your horse/pony.
If you have only a
limited amount of hair, some designs may still be feasible - please contact me
for details.
If you would like hair from two (or more) horses/ponies to
be mixed to give a multi-colour effect then this can be done at no extra
cost. |
